I am a Kenyan visual artist based in Nairobi.
I started painting at a very young age and decided to pursue art as a career. I drew inspiration from the artists in Banana Hill and Ngecha Region, where I later help established the Banana Hill Art Studio with other local artists.
I create oil paintings and wood cut print color reduction that produced pieces which found their way in exhibitions in Kenya, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Japan. Several of my pieces as well have been acquired mostly by private art collectors and enthusiasts from Kenya, Tanzania, India, Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Russia, Australia, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.
With so many young Kenyans and visitors who have been showing interest in pursuing visual arts as a career or a hobby, it has become a passion to share arts knowledge and skills to interested individuals- there are artists inside everyone of us. I’m mostly excited in the fact that through sharing, we could sustain a community of visual artists among talented young Kenyans.
I am currently an artist in residence at Kuona Trust, Centre for Visual Arts in Kenya where you can find me most of the time at Studio 16 bringing my dreams and fantasies into reality of textures and colors.
